The Gumbo Trio is a horn, a banjo, and an upright bass. We specialize in authentic
New Orleans Jazz and the American songbook. We sometimes use guitar and occasionally a sound system and amplifiers.

Because we play 7 nights a
week at local fine dining restaurants, we are very comfortable playing
background volume, without being boring. When appropriate, we can command the room as a feature presentation.
Jerry Embree is the founder and Musical Director of
The Gumbo Trio. For over 25 years, the group has entertained guests visiting New Orleans, or who wish New Orleans to visit them.
